Facing a multi-billion deficit for the next biennium, the state must address its broken revenue system instead of shifting its fiscal problems onto local governments. In order to accomplish this, all units of government—the state, cities, counties, and school districts—must partner together to find a fair, stable, and sustainable revenue system that will prevent a budget crisis like this in the future.
