2012 Candidate Materials
The Coalition of Greater Minneseota Cities (CGMC) is a non-profit, non-partisan advocacy organization comprised of local officials from 80 cities outside of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. For more than 30 years, CGMC has united Greater Minnesota cities with similiar concerns. Our mission is to develop viable, progressive communities for businesses and families through strong economic growth and good local government. The CGMC supports fair property taxes, good land use planning, sensible environmental regulation, a balanced transportation system, and effective economic development tools to meet that goal. Â
Our organization does not endorse candidates running for political office, but we think that it is important for candidates to know about issues that are priorities for Greater Minnesota Cities.  Therefore, we have prepared background information in several policy areas: Property & LGA, Annexation & Land Use, Economic Development, and Environment & Energy. Click here to access the 2012 Candidate Materials.

CGMC/City Candidate Forums
The CGMC will be co-hosting several legislative candiate forums with our member cities. These forums will focus on issues important to our Greater Minnesota communities, including LGA, property taxes, the state budget, and economic development. The CGMC has prepared packet of background information on these issues that will be distributed to all participating candidates prior to the forums.
