Last Thursday, CGMC held a gubernatorial candidate forum during its annual summer conference in Winona. In a statementissued on Tuesday, CGMC President Tim Strand, Mayor of St. Peter, thanked candidates Tom Horner and Mark Dayton for accepting the organization’s invitation, and expressed disappointment that Rep. Tom Emmer declined the opportunity to address rural issues at the forum. Rep. Emmer’s choice sparked spirited discussion among greater Minnesota editorial boards.
CGMC candidate forums generate constructive discussion of rural MN issues
CGMC would like to thank gubernatorial candidates Mark Dayton and Tom Horner, and state auditor candidates Pat Anderson and Rebecca Otto for attending candidate forums held last week in Winona during CGMC’s annual summer conference. Both forums generated fruitful debate and discussion of issues on the minds of rural Minnesotans.
